Essex: Rylan Wins Celebrity Big Brother
Essex X Factor finalist Rylan Clark wailed as he was named the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2013.
The camp singer, who was hot favourite to win the Channel Five show, threw his arms in the air and clutched his temples after he was announced that he had received the most public votes.
Runners up, married couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt - collectively known as Speidi - were booed as they left the house.
The US reality stars failed to make many friends during the series, frequently finding themselves at the centre of arguments.
Self-confessed mega Big Brother fan Clark said winning the series was "like a dream come true".
Referring to his appearance in the last series of the X Factor, he said: "For the last year all people have been doing is picking up the phone for me. I so appreciate it with all my heart."
The 24-year-old from Stanford-le-Hope said he was glad to have shown viewers his true self as being fake would be the worst thing anyone could ever accuse him of.
He said taking part has shown him: "Whatever stick gets thrown at you, just get over it and be yourself."
Asked by host Brian Dowling what he thought of Speidi, he said: "I've not got any ties with Heidi and Spencer.
"I wish them the best in life but they are absolutely made for each other.
"Throughout my time in the house the one thing they gave me was headache."
The first person to be evicted in tonight's final was former footballer Neil "Razor" Ruddock.
Former Steps singer Claire Richards was next out of the house, telling Dowling she was "over the moon" to have come in fourth place in the competition.
Third out was Neighbours actor Ryan Maloney, 33. In his post-eviction interview, the soapstar said he had had the "most amazing experience" but he had found his time on the show "challenging".
Bookmakers had Clark at 1/7 to win the show, with even the revelation that he had been sneaking out of the house to take part in rehearsals for the upcoming X Factor tour failing to dent his popularity.
A spokeswoman for the show refused to say how many times Clark had left the house or for how long but said he remained on the site and was escorted by a Big Brother producer.
Contestants in the show are meant to be isolated in the Big Brother house and denied access to the outside world.
