According to Marcelo Benedetto through DSportsRadio, Cambiasso has a good relationship with the senior national team staff and is one of the options for the job. The 42 year old was in Qatar with former Argentina players supporting the team. He was part of the 2006 Argentina World Cup with Lionel Scaloni, Pablo Aimar and Roberto Ayala, all part of the current Argentina national team coaching staff.
