A man who authorities say is an associate of the New Jersey crime family believed to be the real-life inspiration for HBO's TV series The Sopranos has been sentenced to six years in prison. Anthony 'Whitey' Stango, 34, of Brick, New Jersey, will also have to serve five years of supervised release once he's freed from prison under the sentence imposed on Tuesday, federal prosecutors said. Stango had pleaded guilty last August to a complaint charging him with selling cocaine, using a telephone in interstate commerce to conduct a prostitution operation and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
